Kanniyappan |
|
Kanniyappan expresses the artist in him through the beaten metal. Kanniyappan sculpts in
this medium with the diligence of a craftsman as well as that of a modern artist.
Kanniyappan too absorbed the artistic theories propounded by the legendary
K.C.S. Paniker. Kanniyappan's beaten metal sculptures reflect the philosophy of fusion
- fushion of art and craft. Kanniyappan skilfully incorporates the decorative
and utilitarian values of craft into his modernist expressions. This blend gives
his works an edge over other craft works. He draws his motifs and images from
nature and with his mastery over the medium converts them into vibrant pieces
of art. |
