'From negations to repentance' - that suffices the philosophical growth of the sculptures of M.J. Enas. He started his life as a Jesuit priest and abandoned the cassock later to become an artist. Though he has done a number of commissioned public sculptures, the artist in him finds full expression in the creative sculptures he does. Repentance has been a major theme of Enas for the last few years. He turns to legends and Christian myths in search of appropriate characters. Of late he has created a set of private symbols that delineate the concerns of the artist in sculptural terms. The sculptures of Enas reveal the links of history and legends with the contemporary socio-political realities
